For a low carb option this 4th of July, this veggie tray is one of the easiest things to make! Along with the American flag vegetable tray and grilled pizzas, I made my favorite dill dip recipe and turned it blue to complete the American flag design. I searched through my cabinets to find a blue square container and once it was all together, I thought this veggie tray turned out terrific!

How Do You Make An American Flag Vegetable Tray?

Making this vegetable tray is as easy as 1,2,3! I have to admit that dipping the delicious crispy pizza into the dill dip is very tasty! I found these cute red, white and blue containers at Michaels and they were perfect for serving the grilled pizza.

Can you guess what I made the stars from? They are radishes cut with a small star fondant cutter! You could use cucumbers, but they won’t be as white. A star cookie cutter would be great too.

How Did You Make the Dill Dip Blue?

I added blue food coloring to my dill dip. I think using a blue sandwich container also helped it look bright colored. You’ll want to gradually add a few drops of food coloring until you get the desired blue you like. Get a blue container like mine on Amazon here.

I hope you enjoy this vegetable tray platter idea! If you grill some pizza or make this veggie tray for the 4th of July, share a photo with me on social media. I’d love to see how it turned out!

Hawaiian Sliders Recipe

Easy slider recipe with Hawaiian rolls, pineapple and special barbecue sauce. Delicious juicy bite sized burgers!

Burgers

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 pineapple slices, canned
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • lettuce

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup pineapple preserves
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into twelve half inch thick patties. Set aside.

  2. Combine sauce ingredients in small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.

  3. Place pineapple slices on rack in broiler and brush with sauce. Put pan in oven so the pineapples are 3 to 4 inches from the heat. Broil 4 minutes, turning once and brushing with more sauce. Remove pineapple and keep warm.

  4. Place burgers on a rack in broiler pan so surface of beef is 3-4 inches from the heat. Broil 7 to 8 minutes to medium (160°F) well, until beef is not pink in center and juices show no pink color. Turn once and brush burgers with remaining sauce after turning.

  5. Cut each pineapple slice into thirds. Line bottom of each Hawaiian sweet roll with lettuce, top with a burger, then with a pineapple piece.

What is an Air Fryer?

The air fryer is a less messy, quick and healthy way to fry your food. We LOVE ours! I got mine at Costco, but I’ve heard great things about this one. My son and husband have been using it non-stop. For a couple of guys who never cook, I’m amazed by the things they are frying up in the air fryer.

My husband hosts a party each year for the big game. His game day parties always crack me up, because he doesn’t invite anyone but our kids and me! This recipe will be the perfect snack to serve my crew.

  3. Roll the chicken mixture into small golf ball sized balls.

The Best Italian Antipasto Bake Recipe

Last updated on July 10th, 2018 at 02:13 pm

Everyone will love this Antipasto Bake! Filled with cheese and meat, this casserole is one of the best appetizer recipes you can take to a party.

The Best Italian Antipasto Bake Recipe

This Italian Antipasto Bake recipe came from my sister-in-law from Boston, Liisa. Her friend Marie sent it to her. Don’t you love how recipes get passed along? Family recipes shared over and over are usually the BEST kind of recipes and this Antipasto Bake is definitely amazing!

I’ve got tons of delicious appetizers and party ideas here, but this antipasto bake recipe is always one of my favorite dishes to make for a pot-luck dinner or party. Everyone usually raves about it and here in Texas, it’s a different kind of recipe that is not always served at a party. If you live in the North East, you’ve probably eaten something similar to this recipe many times.

Easy Spinach Artichoke Dip baked in only 10 minutes! A great Instant Pot pressure cooker recipe when you need a simple, fast and delicious appetizer.

I love making Spinach Artichoke Dip and realized that I had never put my recipe on the blog! Well, this time for my husband’s Super Bowl party… I tried making this recipe in my Instant Pot pressure cooker. What an easy way to make this dip! It bakes in only 10 minutes! SO FAST!!! I hope you try this. If so, please let me know!

Super Bowl Party

Note, that I said “my husband’s” Super Bowl party. I have to tell you about our family tradition that’s been happening for many years now.

This party cracks me up, because it’s the ONE day of the year that my husband plans and decorates the party around here. It’s a party that nobody is invited to! Well, my husband, kids and I are invited, but that’s it. Nobody else is allowed. (Although some friends stopped by un-announced one year, and since they followed the rules of the party, now they are allowed to come! ha!) Yes… there are rules, decorations, games and lots of great prizes!

Easy Spinach Artichoke Dip baked in only 10 minutes! Super Bowl Party Food

Not only are the rules funny, but he decorates with flowers and balloons. I’m NOT allowed to help, at all. When I do, I get in trouble. ha! This year, I did sneak in the Spinach Artichoke Dip:-)

I have to admit, each year, his party decorations and prizes get better and better. This year, there are quiz questions and for each one we get correct, we get $5! It’s always a great time for our family. I’m sure our kids will never forget this fun family tradition.
