For 10 years, I have done most of the content here at Living Locurto all on my own with some contributors adding content occasionally. I’m happy to make a change and now have a small team of fabulous women. We had a great time away at a lake near Dallas, Texas connecting, learning, fostering our creativity and planning.

It’s been raining so much in Texas, I thought we would get rained out. But we had wonderful weather! I knew it would be fun when we were welcomed by a full rainbow!
I love planning retreats and the best way to start off a girls’ trip is with gifts! The first thing that arrived for me to take on our trip was some beautiful flower arrangements from AboutFlowers.com .
Did you know a new study done by the University of North Florida says that living with flowers significantly reduces daily stress? We filled our vacation retreat home with flowers and definitely let the stress float away!
Thanks to Gracious Bridal Design House, I had these fabulous personalized tote bags to fill with goodies for the team.
Each team member got a bag filled with goodies from Sur La Table, Red Duck Foods, Goverre and Original Jel Shots. Thanks to these companies for partnering with me.

First, we checked out our lake house. Can you believe this HUGE shower?? HA! We had to get in for a photo.
Second, we said cheers to a great weekend with our new Goverre portable wine glasses. These are unique glasses that have a drink-through lid, be sure to check them out here. I plan to stock up for gifts!
Third, we pulled out goodies from our gift bags and got to tasting these fun adult treats from Original Jel Shots! They come in unique flavors such as banana and cinnamon. You can see all the flavors here. We decided the Blu-Razz (raspberry) was our favorite.
Another fun gift were sauces from Red Duck Foods, a small Portland based women-owned, company committed to making superior organic sauces. They’ve recently launched a new taco sauce with three fun flavors! I love supporting women-owned companies and really love these flavorful sauces. To practice our photography skills, I baked a Better Than Sex Cake with our new bundt pan from Sur La Table. You cake find the recipe here. It’s AMAZING!
We also made this amazing cocktail that I will be sharing soon! It was super fun to photograph and taste test.
Since a few team members had never been to Dallas before, I made sure we took some time off to enjoy the Texas countryside and a fabulous dinner at a local winery. We also hit up a small town Whataburger, which is a MUST do when in Texas.
We had so much fun. I personally feel so energized and can’t wait to share more of the creative ideas we did at the retreat soon. Be on the lookout for a lot of fun content coming soon!!!

Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are my go to easy recipe when I need something fast! These pizza rolls made with pizza dough filled with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese are a crowd pleaser and easy to whip up for dinner, game days or for kids to make on their own. Since my daughter doesn’t like tomatoes, we leave out any sauce and use our favorite marinara sauce for dipping. It never fails to be the most asked for recipe in my home!
This summer was my 10 year blogging anniversary and I can’t believe I haven’t put these yummy Pepperoni Pizza Rolls here until now! I have written lots of articles about pizza, but completely forgot to share our most favorite recipe of them all! We do so much at home and I often forget to share. Ha!

Spreading joy this Holiday season with a magical Disney giveaway for Free Disney World or Disneyland Park Tickets!
You know those days your heart aches as a parent? I had one a few days ago with my 11 year old daughter. She walked into the living room and looked at her Elf on the Shelf back from the North Pole who was holding a cool new Elf Phone powered by candy. Instead of the huge smile that I was expecting, there were big buckets of tears streaming down her face.
Turns out my daughter had seen my elf video online and thought just because I assembled the candy phone in the video that I also moved the elf all of these years. WAIT… HE WASN’T REAL???? As her world came tumbling down. I about lost it too. But, I kept it together and explained that Peter, our elf, has always come much earlier than she thought to bring me these fun elf ideas from the North Pole to share with my readers. I might assemble some of the printables to show everyone, but the rest is magic. Then her eyes got HUGE when she thought of Santa and more tears gushed out. Instead of the happy morning I had planned, it ended up being a very sad morning seeing the magic disappear in my little girl’s eyes. In our family, no matter how old you get, you never stop believing in the magic of Christmas. We celebrate the birth of Jesus, but during this time, there is always wonderful magic in the air! We can’t explain a lot, but have faith. I told my daughter there is magic by giving, by coming together with friends and family and doing good deeds for those in need. You can’t deny this is a magical time of year. I hope she continues to believe, but understand that as you grow up it’s not as strong.
After hugging my girl, the only thing to make me feel better was to spread some good cheer to others. This heavy-duty lightweight litter has the same serious odor-fighting power that you expect from Tidy Cats in an amazingly pleasant floral scent. It smells like spring and is just what I need!
Here’s my problem and why I am excited about nice smelling cat litter… Apollo, is a VERY fancy feline. If you pet him, he will clean that exact spot of fur. He turns his nose up at messes like no other cat I’ve ever had. We laugh at how he is a five star cat and the king of the house! Our cat is so fancy, that even getting his paws in the kitty litter is beneath him. Therefore he prefers to poop right next to the litter instead of in it! Argh!
I’ve tried everything to remedy his issue with the litter box, such as using two cat litter boxes, one for #1 and one for #2. Well, that worked a few times as long as I cleaned his litter out right after he does his business. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
It’s a constant battle to get Apollo to use the kitty litter. Obviously he could care less…
The quest to get my cat to go poo in his kitty litter box will hopefully end now! I’m excited to try the new Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms to improve not only the odor in my bathroom where I keep his litter, but to hopefully find something fancy enough for him. I think Apollo will really like the Glade scent as well as I do, because he’s fancy like that!

First I used a jigsaw to cut a rectangle shape in a large plastic storage box, big enough for him to walk through.
I then added some contact paper liner on the bottom of the storage container and put the cat litter box inside full of nice smelling Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms.
I added a battery operated light and new clean up kit. Then decorated the outside for my very fancy cat!
Next, I drilled ventilation holes in the lid over the area that covers the kitty litter. I made a cat shape for my box!
You can add the lid to the box or take it off. Putting the lid on it when guest come over is a great idea to hide the litter. The storage box I found has wheels on the back, so I can move it around the house anytime!
Using Tidy Cats LightWeight litter makes it easy to move the litter as well.

Since Apollo was curious, I tested it out my new DIY Cat Litter Box Holder by putting on the lid and turning on the light.
Apollo brings my family so much joy, that I’m happy to create a nice space just for him! He seems to really like it so far. I’m crossing my fingers this easy DIY cat litter box idea is fancy enough for him though. ha!

Blogging takes a TON of work, so I want to celebrate making it this far with a giveaway to say thank you for being here to celebrate with me!
All week, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Living Locurto recipes, crafts, home decor and party ideas from the past 8 years. There is so much… I’ve been having fun looking at the archives.
If you have read my blog from the beginning, you’ve seen my kids and pets grow up and hopefully been inspired to be more creative at home. If you are a blogger, I’ve probably seen your kids grow up too!
Remember when my daughter started her own craft show for kids back when she was 5 year old? She’s 10 now and we still get a kick out of watching them! She’s now a regular on my Facebook Live Episodes and Youtube videos.
I’m so thankful to have had so many amazing opportunities because of this blog. Throughout the years, I have designed product lines, worked with big brands and conquered my fear of speaking. It amazes me that I was so scared before! Now I enjoy speaking to hundreds of people. I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to work with, mentor and teach so many other talented bloggers. It’s been a blast meeting Living Locurto readers and some of my favorite celebrities as well.
I love the blog community and so thankful that you follow along and share with your friends. I’m happy to have been able to share creative ideas with you over the past 8 years. I look forward to continue doing more for a long time!
