Meet the New Han Solo

Surely you’ve heard that a Star Wars movie devoted to exploring the origins of your very favorite scoundrel, Han Solo, is in the works!

This new film in the Star Wars cinematic universe will chronicle the adventure-filled past of the iconic pilot and everyone’s favorite Wookiee—and filming just started in London!

Want to see your new boyfriend…I…mean the young fox playing Han Solo?

Look at all the cool people in this movie!

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directors co-piloting the movie, with a cast that includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Thandie Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.

But…I don’t feel like we got a good look at our new Han Solo…

It’s fine. I’m fine. He’s fine.

The film remains untitled and is being references simply as “the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story.”

The movie will explore Han and Chewie’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 25, 2018. Start crafting your paper countdown chain now.

The New Beauty and the Beast Movie is Coming March 17th!

Is it too soon to put up my paper chain countdown to March 17? I don’t usually get overly excited about St. Patrick’s Day, but this year, the holiday falls on the same day as the release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. So naturally, I’m pumped. You know, in an age appropriate, not weird that I’m an adult totally jazzed about a fairy tale movie, kind of way. (That was convincing, right?)

New Beauty and the Beast Movie Still

To add fuel to the fire, Disney just released it’s third and final trailer for the movie. (You can’t hear me squealing through the computer, can you? No? Good, because I totally wasn’t.) In case you haven’t seen it, or if you just want to watch it again—and again, and again—here it is:

And here are the other trailers for the movie:

Now if I can just figure out a way for time to move faster.

If Sleeping Beauty Was Your Mom . . .

Disney princesses are, admittedly, not my jam. But who am I to bag on decades of delight, non-sensical romance, and oppressed teenage girls breaking out into random song?

Despite all that, I must concede.

Disney princesses are an institution, and even though their stories all drop off at “Happily Ever After”, all it takes is a little imagination and some serious creativity to take that story one step further, which is where artist Isaiah Stephens comes in. He put together a series imagining a few of our favorite Disney princesses and their princes as new parents and it’s a total home run.
