When is Descendants 3 Coming Out?

Ahead of the third Disney Channel Original Movie, premiering August 2, 2019, Escape from the Isle of the Lost, continues the adventures of everyone’s favorite villain kids, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos.

This book will provide a much anticipated backstory to the new storyline, as well as picking up where the Descendants 2 movie leaves off. It’s written by Melissa de la Cruz, the best-selling author of many novels, including the Blue Bloods series and the Witches of East End.

All three novels in the Descendants series have become instant New York Times best sellers, with Isle of the Lost and Return to the Isle of the Lost hitting the number one spot.

Here are the four Descendants books in order:

Under the Sea Donut Kabobs - Descendants Party Ideas and Book Series

Escape from the Isle of the Lost Summary

Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos may have once been the baddest of the bad, but their wicked ways are (mostly) behind them—and now graduation is almost here! But before the seniors can don their custom-designed caps and gowns, courtesy of Evie, they’ve got an epic plan to put into action.

There are tons of villain kids on the Isle of the Lost who are eager for their chance to come to Auradon Prep—even Celia, Dr. Facilier’s trickster daughter, wants in on the deal!—and Mal’s crew is using their upcoming visit to the Isle to help make it happen. But Auradon’s biggest threat is still at large… Trapped on the other side of the barrier, Uma is more desperate than ever to get her long-awaited revenge against Mal. When she discovers an underground lair belonging to Hades, god of the underworld, Uma realizes she’s found the perfect partner in crime. Together, they can defeat Mal, bring down the barrier, and escape the Isle for good. Mal and Uma have a score to settle, and they’ll come face to face in an explosive underwater battle that could determine the fates of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost once and for all.

What you’ll need for a Christmas Tree Donut Wall:

  • 1 White Foam Board (20″ x 30″)
  • 4” Lollipop Sticks (You will need 8 sticks cut in half)
  • Yellow Scrapbook Paper
  • Red Scrapbook Paper
  • Pencil
  • Ruler or Measuring Tape
  • 15 Green Glazed Donuts

Step 1

Turn the foam board vertically and measure to find the center. The board will stand up tall when completed.

How to make a Christmas Tree Donut Wall - Step 1. Easy Christmas Party Food Craft by Living Locurto

Step 2

Measure roughly 7” down from the center of the top of the board. This is where the top of the first donut will be placed.

Step 3

Begin arranging the donuts in a “Christmas tree” shape on top of the foam board. Start with one donut in the top row, two in the second row, etc, until you end with five donuts in the bottom row.

How to make a Christmas Tree Donut Wall - Step 3. Easy Christmas Party Food Craft by Living Locurto

Step 4

Using a pencil, mark a spot inside the donuts’ holes right at the very top to mark where you will place the sticks from which they will hang. Remember, DO NOT put the mark in the middle, it must be at the top of the hole where the donut will rest on the stick.

How to make a Christmas Tree Donut Wall - Step 4. Easy Christmas Party Food Craft by Living Locurto

Step 5

Cut each 4” lollipop stick in half and press firmly into the foam board on top of each of your marked spots. The sticks should stay put inside the board, but if you want to insure they don’t fall out, you can hot glue them to the board. If you plan to use this donut wall only one time, I wouldn’t bother with glue! Skipping that step will save yourself some time.

Step 6

Cut a star from yellow scrapbook paper and then hot glue it to the board directly above the top donut.

Step 7

Cut a 3”x3” square from red scrapbook paper and hot glue it to the board in the center of the bottom row of donuts.

Sherlock Gnomes Donuts and Juice

I’m a HUGE fan of garden gnomes and have just made the cutest Gnome Donuts to celebrate Sherlock Gnomes a fun, family friendly movie in theaters March 23. The trailer looks adorable and full of action, teamwork and adventure. What a perfect movie to see during spring break! I can’t wait to see this film since it inspired these fun, easy to make no-bake gnome donuts and juice! After sketching several ideas for gnome donuts, I feel like I know these movie characters inside and out.

They’re on a mission to bring every gnome home. After a string of garden gnome disappearances in London, Gnomeo & Juliet look to legendary detective Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case of their missing friends and family.

Those tiny red gnomes in the movie poster are so cute! I couldn’t wait to turn them into donuts and especially excited to create an edible Juliet. She’s my favorite character for sure! I think they turned out ADORABLE. Wouldn’t these donuts be so cute for a woodland themed “Sherlock Gnomes” party?

I love creating fun food for parties! These small Sherlock Gnomes toys show you just how bite sized the donuts are, making them the perfect snack for kids. I added colorful drinks to the bottles to serve as their outfits, but you don’t have to serve these on small bottles. They would be just as fun all alone on a plate.

How to Make Sherlock Gnome Donuts

First, you’ll need to gather your ingredients. Scroll down and print the recipe for a list of all ingredients you will need. I used Glazed Hostess Donettes for the donuts and Reese’s Puffs cereal for the noses and ears.

Gnome Hats

Cut paper into about 3”-4” squares and shape into a funnel with the bottom a little bit larger than the width of the donut. Secure with tape and trim to fit.

Juliet

To make Juliet, add chocolate frosting to a decorating bag with a petal decorating tip attached. Pipe on Juliet’s hair. Stick two mini chocolate chips into the donuts sideways as eyes. The curvy tip should look like eye lashes. Add a tiny dot of white icing to a candy lip and place on the donut.

Paddington Bear Donuts and Milk

This post is in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures

One of my favorite book characters is back on the big screen! PADDINGTON 2 will be in theaters January 12 so I made cute Paddington Bear Donuts and Milk to celebrate! I loved the first Paddington movie and can’t wait to watch PADDINGTON 2 with my family. I grew up reading Paddington and after taking my kids to London last summer, they are now big fans as well. They didn’t realize how popular Paddington was until seeing him everywhere around London and going to the train station that he was named after. From Peru to London, Paddington definitely makes the world a brighter place!

These adorable Paddington Bear Donuts are simple to make no bake treats! They look cute on the table whether you make a few for your kids or a dozen for a Paddington birthday party. I made cute Paddington Bear Cupcakes for the first movie, a recently had the idea for Paddington Bear Donuts, but wasn’t sure how I was going to make them. I thought about baking regular sized donuts from scratch, which you definitely could do if you had the time, but to make things fast and easy I used mini store bought donuts. The smaller donuts fit perfectly on top of my milk bottles and turned out so cute in the end. I was glad I went with mini donuts which are easy to find at any grocery store.

Step 2

Gently press a chocolate chip into the nose and press two mini chocolate chips into the donut for the eyes. If they don’t stick to the donut, use a little of the melted butterscotch chips as glue. Set aside to cool.
