About Paddington 2
Following the worldwide hit “Paddington,” one of the most successful family films of all time, this much-anticipated sequel finds Paddington (Ben Whishaw) happily settled with the Brown family in London, where he has become a popular member of the local community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes.
While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington sees a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

One of my go-to holiday gifts for friends and neighbors are my favorite movies—added bonus when I can combine the holiday gift with something sweet and delicious!
A busy family…wrapping up homework and dinner dishes…when they hear a knock on the door. Someone (probably Mom) groans, “Uh. What now?” They open the door, expecting to hear about the benefits of “going solar” but instead there you stand, gift basket in hand. A gift basket that holds Despicable Me 3, the hilarious and heartwarming family-friendly movie full of characters we all love (Gru, his wife Lucy, their three adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions) AND the cutest little Minion cookies you ever did see.
You just made their night.
Because everyone will enjoy the #1 animated comedy of the year, Despicable Me 3 Special Edition (available now on Blu-ray & DVD) that includes an all-new mini movie, Minion Moments, and more! Plus, if you purchase your copy at Walmart, it includes and exclusive gift set with a super soft, plush Minion backpack—but only for a limited time!
Want to know how to make those adorable Minion Chocolate Dipped Cookies? Here’s everything you need to know.
A few tips and tricks that I’ve learned:
- Don’t get “candy melts.” They taste awful and oreos and nutter-butters dipped in white chocolate are delicious!
- Make sure to use oil based food coloring-standard food coloring will ruin your chocolate and make it grainy.
- Lay out ALL of your supplies beforehand-especially the wax paper!
How to make these darling Minion Cookies:
White Chocolate Melts
Candy Food Coloring (different than standard food coloring, candy food coloring is oil based)
Black Frosting or Black Food Coloring Marker
White Snow Sprinkles
Lay out Wax Paper.
Melt down melting chocolates according to instructions on packaging. Split package into 3 bowls-one for white, one for yellow and one for blue. Use oil based food coloring to color the yellow and blue white chocolate.
Dip Nutter Butters in the yellow chocolate first, submerging only half of the cookie. Add googly eyes before chocolate sets and refridgerate for 5-10 minutes until hardened.
Dip the other side of the Nutter-Butters in the blue chocolate and use a squeeze bottle or toothpick to add the blue chocolate overall straps.
Refrigerate cookies again to harden, 5-10 minutes.
Use the black frosting or food coloring marker to draw glasses straps, hair, mouths and overall details.
Dip additional cookies in remaining chocolate and then dip partially in snowy sprinkles. Additional blue and white chocolate in a squeezy bottle can be used to draw patterns like snowflakes!
Enjoy! This activity is so much fun for kids and grown-ups alike and anything that doesn’t turn out still tastes soooo good!
Bring home Despicable Me 3 Special Edition with an All-New Mini Movie, Minion Moments and more! On Digital Nov 21, Blu-ray & DVD December 5th.
Illumination, the studio that brought you Sing, The Secret Life of Pets and the Despicable Me franchise, continues the adventures of Gru and his family in Despicable Me 3. After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down Balthazar Bratt, the latest evil mastermind to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother — a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps — the former super-villain rediscovers just how good it feels to be bad.

Ready for a fun family tradition?! A tradition that puts a glorious, enjoyable, low-effort cap on your busy week?
We call it FUN FRIDAY.
Fun Friday means two things.
- Takeout for dinner.
- A movie.
The genius behind our tradition is that we rotate through each family member each week and that person gets to pick both the takeout location and the movie. No fighting over where we eat. No complaining about the movie.
It’s our favorite!
We pile on my bed. Eat our takeout, on towels, of course. (We aren’t animals.) And watch a movie. As my kiddos have gotten bigger, I’ve been banished to the floor to eat my dinner. And I can’t see the TV!
I’m getting super ripped off. I bankroll this whole shindig and I’m on the floor…with a limited view of the TV! I’m ready to take advantage of that nice big wall and mount that TV up nice and high.
Don’t be impressed by the cleanliness of that dresser. Before I took this photo the top was littered with various items such as; little boy underpants (clean), a retainer case, 1st grade homework, DVD cases, and a granola bar. None of those things are mine.
IN MY BEDROOM.
Can I have something pretty? Is that too much to ask? Probably.
But getting that TV off the dresser will go a LONG WAY to freeing up some space and making it much easier to wrangle the clutter.
Oh, that’s much better! I feel like I gained another piece of furniture!
Finding my wall mount was a piece of cake.
I started with the SANUS mountfinder tool to help me figure out which TV mount was right for me. (But if you get stuck or have questions they have online support, 7 days a week until 7pm CST.)
I went with a tilting mount because I knew that, at the most, I’d want to alter the angle of the TV, to reduce glare or accommodate watching while laying down. You can bet that if I was mounting this in my living room, I’d be taking a long hard look at the full motion mount. (That would be amazing!) And you’re probably already familiar with a fixed mount.
I just found the model number on the back of my TV and plugged it into the mount finder tool, answered a few simple questions and made my selection! A few days later, it arrived on my doorstep.
I’m all about easy solutions. I want something I can set and forget. ALSO. I want it to be safe. My wall mount holds up to 120lbs (well over the weight of my TV) and all SANUS mounts are UL certified, which means they’ve been tested to withstand FOUR TIMES the recommended weight limit. Now normally, I’d roll my eyes at that excessive weight bearing capacity, but I have a small boy who would 100% figure out a way to test the limits of the TV mount. Most likely while I’m in the shower.
You can get help determining how high you should mount your TV here, and the mounting kit comes with easy to follow instructions, clearly labeled hardware, and if you get stuck you can watch this handy video on the SANUS website that explains it all!
The kids are fascinated by the whole thing. They couldn’t wait to pile in and watch a movie.

Friday is movie night at our house. And it’s becoming a production. It starts with takeout—we rotate who gets to pick (because mediating the inevitable disagreement between two kiddos does not make for a happy Mama) and then we pile up on my bed and watch a movie (also picked by the lucky “featured” family member that week.)
My son has already picked out our movie for this week…
When we saw this in theaters it inspired MANY sing-and-dance performances by my children for the following weeks.
I’m expecting their love of this show and the songs to evolve into downright obsession.
This movie was so sweet and so fun and warmed my mom heart so much with its messages—be brave, be yourself, never give up—it’s the trifecta of inspirational stories!
I guess I’m pretty excited for Friday night too.
You can pick up your copy of the Sing Special Edition and giggle through three new mini movies and a bunch of musical extras. For the love of pete, this movie has over 65 songs in it! Plus a new song by Stevie Wonder (featuring Ariana Grande.)
You can also win a copy from us at the end of this post!
Since my kids are so pumped, I’m going to up the ante on our Friday movie night tradition and break out a special snack.
I’m calling them Buster’s Moon Pie Muddy Buddies, in honor of our favorite koala/theater owner/musical visionary, Buster Moon, and my favorite chocolate marshmallow combo.
And since I don’t want my kids to start the movie without me, this snack has to come together quick.
BUSTER MOON PIE MUDDY BUDDIES
- 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 ¾ cups chocolate chips
- ⅔ cup peanut butter
- ⅓ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Combine Rice Chex, Golden Grahams cereal, and mini marshmallows in a large bowl and set aside.
- In a microwave safe bowl, combine 1 ¼ cups chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave for 1 minute and then stir until it is nice and smooth. (Microwave 15-30 seconds longer if needed to get a smooth consistency.)
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour mixture over cereal and marshmallows, stirring to coat.
- You’ll have to do the next steps in two batches…
- Place half of the mixture in a gallon Ziploc bag with 1 cup of powdered sugar.
- Toss bag to coat mixture with powdered sugar.
- Remove coated muddy buddies from the bag, and repeat steps 6 and 7 with the remaining mixture.
- Allow mixture to cool. Or eat immediately with both hands.
We’re giving you a chance to win a copy of the SING Special Edition Blu-ray (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD) for your home theater collection! To enter, just leave a comment below. Say “hello” and we’ll pick one random comment as the winner on Friday, March 31st at 5:00 PM.

I’ve got great news for your “Friday night what to watch that the whole family will agree on without someone ending up in tears because they don’t like that movie and they never get to pick” dilemma—SING in Digital HD is available now!
If you ask me, a diva pig in a sequined jumpsuit singing the hits of Lady Gaga is reason enough to get this movie. If you need something more compelling, how about the fact that when you purchase SING in Digital HD on VUDU, you’ll get 3 all-new mini-movies and so many extras? It really is the most dynamic way to watch the year’s biggest animated musical hit.
Using VUDU is pretty simple. You can purchase SING in Digital HD at VUDU.com or on their app. Vudu is easy to use and the app is on your favorite devices (Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, streaming devices [i.e. Roku], and both Android and Apple mobile devices). So that also means you can start a movie on your TV and finish it on your tablet!
The Vudu mobile app is also a great way for kids to watch SING on their own. It lets them tap and swipe their way across the most robust set of interactive bonus content available, including the “SING Interactive Experience,” featuring a carousel of the film’s iconic characters loaded with animation galleries, profiles, cast voice over sessions and more.
If you missed catching SING in the theaters, you’re in for a treat! It was made by Illumination Entertainment, the same studio that made THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS. The basic premise of the film is that all of us have something within us that we can share with others.SING stars Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater; winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and underappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; and Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies. But in my opinion, the best part of this movie is the likelihood that at some point you’ll end up with a family dance party on your hands while you watch. Movie night and a dance party? I can’t think of anything better.
