Easy Recycled Bottle Cat Container
Recycled Bottle Cat Containers make a cute, and best of all FREE craft! I came up with this fun idea after doing a little spring cleaning.
My cat is not feeling well and living in my bathroom right now, which means I’m constantly cleaning that room for him. I found a bunch of old shampoo bottles that I started to trash, but decided to turn them into cat containers instead. I guess my cat inspired me!

How to Make a Recycled Bottle Cat Container
Now that you’ve cleaned out old bottles of shampoo, lotion and body wash. It’s time to make some cute cat containers.
I think these easy Recycled Bottle Cat Containers would be fun for a kid’s birthday party activity. Just have pre-cut bottles cut and let kids draw their own cat faces on the bottles with a sharpie.
What you’ll need:
- Shampoo, lotion or body wash bottles (Remove labels with nail polish remover)
- Exacto knife
- Sand paper (optional)
- Start by drawing a line for the head and ears with your sharpie on the front of the bottle.
- On the back, draw the cat’s tail.
- Carefully begin cutting out the cat’s ears and move towards the back towards the tail.
- Cut as much of the bottle away from the tail with the blade, then use scissors to shape everything nice and neat. If the edges are too rough or sharp, sand down with sandpaper.
- Wash out any extra product from the bottle and clean any pen marks.
- Draw a cat face and you’re done.
What Should You Do With Your Cat Container?
Here are some fun ideas for how to use your new kitty cat containers:
- Hang in shower to hold razors or face cleaner
- Use as a planter
- Hang on a wall for decor
- Pencil holders
- To store headphone and phone chargers
I hope this project inspired you to start fresh and try something new. Don’t miss the great deals for Suave at CVS!

Elegant Plaid Tablescape
My grandpa was from Holland, so I have grown up with all kinds of Delft Blue china. The blue and white plates with pops of red is a classic look and perfect for any occasion. You can find beautiful Delftware at antique shops or newer less expensive blue and white dinner plates online.
Personalized Apple Place Holder
An apple makes an easy alternative to the usual place card for a pop of Christmas red. Use a metallic marker to write the names of your guests on the fruit. This is definitely one of my favorite DIY table setting tips!
Rustic Plaid Christmas Tablescape
If you like more traditional Christmas table settings, then you’ll love this rustic plaid tablescape. You probably already have most of the items needed for this table decor in your home. With pine cones, fruit, candles, berries, greenery and a few flowers, this pretty centerpiece can be made in minutes!
DIY Apple Candle Holders
Cut the top off of an apple and hollow out the inside with a spoon to make room for a candle. Squeeze lemon juice over the apple to keep it from browning right away before inserting your candle. Use battery operated votive candles if you plan to keep them on for a long period of time.
Simple Natural Christmas Tablescape
This simple Christmas table setting is one of my favorites! I love the easy DIY centerpiece made with fruit. This look can easily be done with items from your home.
Fresh eucalyptus is wonderful to use on your Christmas table! It smells wonderful and is a trendy alternative to traditional holiday pine. Click here to find a local florist who can provide you with fresh eucalyptus arrangements.
You can also place large bunches of eucalyptus in the middle of the table and embellish with berry twigs, pine cones, fruit and flowers. Tie a napkin around a twig of eucalyptus and write your guests name on a leaf for a gorgeous place setting.

Printable Days of the Week Closet Tags are a simple way to get organized for back to school and help kids get dressed on their own in the mornings!
Printable Days of the Week Closet Tags
I love this idea for Days of the Week Closet Tags that I came up with to help keep my kids organized and ready for school. It’s been a lifesaver! No more stressful mornings and my kids learned their days of the weeks at a very young age.
Getting organized for back to school and ready for my kid’s daily routines is a huge help for a busy mom like me. To make mornings much easier, we chose clothes for each day of the week and hung them on a low closet rack for my kids to reach. Then I designed some cute Days of the Week Tags to hang on each outfit’s hanger. The Days of the Week Closet Tags have the day of the week written out and a giant letter for kids not old enough to read.

How the Days of the Week Closet Tags Work
To help you visualize how these tags work, I’m sharing a photo of my son’s closet from when he was in kindergarten. We still do this and he is now going into the 5th grade!
The night before school, he takes the designated outfit off of the hangers and lays it on the floor by his door. This way he won’t forget to get dressed before coming downstairs. We usually make silly poses with the clothes and that makes it even more fun!
These Days of the Week Closet Tags are also perfect for my daughter, because she can go a little crazy on the layering! This causes much less decision making stress in the morning! I designed the pastel pinks and purple Days of the Week tags for her closet.

Do you think about the soil you use for your flower pots or garden? Well, you should. I am partnering with Ecoscraps today and love their story!
Ecoscraps was created by people who saw a better way to make soil, better for our gardens and better for our planet. Ecoscraps collects food waste from grocery stores and composts the waste into natural and organic garden soils and plant foods. Since 2011, Ecoscraps has diverted more than 75 million pounds of food waste from the landfill. How cool is that?
They believe bad food that is transformed into rich, organic soils and plant foods can do a lot of good for families and our environment.

Making a Kitchen Herb Fairy Garden is a wonderful activity to do with your kids this summer!
You can make your fairy garden with flowers, but for ours we chose herbs that we can use in recipes. A fairy garden can be for the outdoors or indoors, in a fancy flower pot or a simple box. The ideas are endless!
How to Make a Kitchen Herb Fairy Garden
This tutorial for making a fairy garden for your kitchen is super easy and hopefully brings you some magical inspiration for a fun craft to do with your family or friends!
1. Decide on a Fairy Garden Theme
First of all, you want to decide on your fairy garden theme. Be sure to get the kids involved with this process. Shopping for fairy garden accessories is half of the fun!
Will it be a magical garden with a little house and swing set to welcome fairies each night? Or will you decide on a theme based on your favorite hobbies, toys, time period or animals?
I love chickens, so had to add a cute chicken coop to ours!
Here are some fun fairy garden theme ideas to get you started:
- Log Cabin
- Medieval Times
2. Choose Your Container
Since our herb fairy garden was for our kitchen, I chose a galvanized container that matched my kitchen decor. You can put a fairy garden in just about any kind of container, you don’t need to limit yourself to the usual terracotta flower pot.
3. Choose the Herbs
Think about what herbs you would use the most. I love adding fresh mint to my drinks, so mint was definitely on my list of herbs to buy. Because I make a lot of pasta dishes, oregano and basil were on my list as well. If you have a larger container, add some colorful flowering plants as well.
4. Choose the Soil
When growing any kind of food, such as herbs, it’s best to use organic potting soil such as Ecoscraps, which can be found at Target.
5. Design Your Fairy Garden
Now that you have your accessories, container, herbs and soil, you are ready to start designing your magical fairy garden!
If using a container with no drain like I did, protect it by lining the container with plastic. Then add some rocks to the bottom before adding the soil. This will help the water drain and not drown your plants if you over-water them.
Fill your container with potting soil and add your favorite plants and flowers making sure to think of the scene you want to create as you plant. Add various heights and take note to leave space for plant growth.
Before planting herbs, loosen the soil at the bottom so the roots are exposed to the soil.
Moss, pebbles and twinkling lights are great to have when creating a magical fairy garden.
Place near a window and enjoy!
Didn’t this turn out adorable? It was so easy and fun to make. We are looking forward to fairies coming to visit!
I hope you got some magical inspiration with this fun Kitchen Herb Fairy Garden. Enter to win a $50 Target Gift card so you can make your own Fairy Garden.
Be sure to get a few bags of Ecoscraps the next time you shop at Target! Watch this video to learn more about these organic soil.

A DIY Cat Litter Box Holder is a simple homemade idea to hide your kitty litter box and give your cat’s space a fresh makeover!
How to make a DIY cat litter box holder! An easy mess free idea for your cat’s space.
This DIY Cat Litter Box Holder is the best idea for keeping your kitty litter area clean! Give your home a purr-fect cat makeover with the help of Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms and this simple way to hide your kitty litter. Our cats deserve the best, so be sure to check out today’s fun giveaway below from Tidy Cats!
Make a space just for your kitty litter box from a large storage container. Not only is your cat’s space spruced up and hidden from view, but you will eliminate the mess. It’s a win win for everyone!
I was very excited when Tidy Cats asked our cat Apollo to be an ambassador for their new Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms litter! This heavy-duty lightweight litter has the same serious odor-fighting power that you expect from Tidy Cats in an amazingly pleasant floral scent. It smells like spring and is just what I need!
Here’s my problem and why I am excited about nice smelling cat litter… Apollo, is a VERY fancy feline. If you pet him, he will clean that exact spot of fur. He turns his nose up at messes like no other cat I’ve ever had. We laugh at how he is a five star cat and the king of the house! Our cat is so fancy, that even getting his paws in the kitty litter is beneath him. Therefore he prefers to poop right next to the litter instead of in it! Argh!
I’ve tried everything to remedy his issue with the litter box, such as using two cat litter boxes, one for #1 and one for #2. Well, that worked a few times as long as I cleaned his litter out right after he does his business. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
It’s a constant battle to get Apollo to use the kitty litter. Obviously he could care less…
The quest to get my cat to go poo in his kitty litter box will hopefully end now! I’m excited to try the new Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms to improve not only the odor in my bathroom where I keep his litter, but to hopefully find something fancy enough for him. I think Apollo will really like the Glade scent as well as I do, because he’s fancy like that!
I’m proud to introduce my new DIY Cat Litter Box Holder!
If you have a cat too, I hope you enjoy this easy DIY idea for your home!
What you’ll need to make a Cat Litter Box Holder:
- Large storage container big enough to hold your litter box
- Cat litter box
- Cat litter box liners
- Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms
- Contact paper
- Tools: Jigsaw and Drill
- Optional: Kitty litter mat, kitty litter cleanup kit and battery operated light
First I used a jigsaw to cut a rectangle shape in a large plastic storage box, big enough for him to walk through.
I then added some contact paper liner on the bottom of the storage container and put the cat litter box inside full of nice smelling Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions Clean Blossoms.
I added a battery operated light and new clean up kit. Then decorated the outside for my very fancy cat!
Next, I drilled ventilation holes in the lid over the area that covers the kitty litter. I made a cat shape for my box!
You can add the lid to the box or take it off. Putting the lid on it when guest come over is a great idea to hide the litter. The storage box I found has wheels on the back, so I can move it around the house anytime!
Using Tidy Cats LightWeight litter makes it easy to move the litter as well.
Look who came to explore as I was making this!
Since Apollo was curious, I tested it out my new DIY Cat Litter Box Holder by putting on the lid and turning on the light.
Apollo brings my family so much joy, that I’m happy to create a nice space just for him! He seems to really like it so far. I’m crossing my fingers this easy DIY cat litter box idea is fancy enough for him though. ha!
Wish me luck!
