The New Beauty and the Beast Movie is Coming March 17th!

Is it too soon to put up my paper chain countdown to March 17? I don’t usually get overly excited about St. Patrick’s Day, but this year, the holiday falls on the same day as the release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. So naturally, I’m pumped. You know, in an age appropriate, not weird that I’m an adult totally jazzed about a fairy tale movie, kind of way. (That was convincing, right?)

New Beauty and the Beast Movie Still

To add fuel to the fire, Disney just released it’s third and final trailer for the movie. (You can’t hear me squealing through the computer, can you? No? Good, because I totally wasn’t.) In case you haven’t seen it, or if you just want to watch it again—and again, and again—here it is:

And here are the other trailers for the movie:

Now if I can just figure out a way for time to move faster.

16 Life Lessons I Learned From My Dogs

This post is in partnership with Universal Pictures’ upcoming film A Dog’s Purpose, coming to theaters January 27.

I was raised by two dog lovers and I’m doing my darndest to raise two more. Boxers are a particular favorite of ours.

That’s me with our dog Primo. Judging from my perm it was sometime around 1986.

Here I am with current furry family member — Jessie. She is quite honestly, the BEST DOG EVER IN ALL THE LAND. She loves my kids, hangs close to me all day while the kids are away, greets me every morning like I’m her favorite person in the whole world, and is appropriately intimidating when strangers ring my doorbell.

Jessie is my 10th dog and while all of them have taught me how to love and be loved, there are a few life lessons that living with a dog, particularly a dog and small children, can teach.

1. Every party needs streamers.

2. Puppies have two speeds. 1. Adorable. 2. OMGSTOPBITINGME

3. It pays to have a good poker face.

4. DON’T EAT BEES.

5. If you need a pick-me-up, walk the kiddos to the bus stop.

6. Kids and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly.

7. BE CAREFUL.

8. Never turn down a nap.

9. Make friends with the new kid. Even if the new kid is sort of a punk at first.

10. If you ask really nicely, people will usually share. Their bacon.

11. Kids just want you to stop and sit by them for a little while.

12. Go to Grandma and Grandpa’s house every opportunity you get. There house is WAY more fun.

13. Cuddling is always a good idea.

14. The best part of the day is when the school bus brings the kiddos back.

15. Neighborhood watch is everyone’s responsibility.

16. Even the manliest of men will melt when you hand them a puppy.

So, you can well imagine that as a dog lover, I OF COURSE, clicked on the trailer for A Dog’s Purpose

I’M NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING. But in a good way! This movie looks so sweet and wonderful and I will be buying my ticket to catch this on the big screen with my family when it comes out on January 27th.

While you wait to head to the theater, you can make your very own #ADogsPurpose movie poster using a photo of your favorite furry friend and share it using the tag #MyDogsPurpose and your pup could even be featured in the film’s campaign!

I couldn’t help myself…

See you at the movies!

If someone laid down some sort of crazy gauntlet and said I could only see ONE movie this year, it would be Beauty and the Beast. You too?!

New Disney Movie Trailer: Zootopia

Coming March 4th 2016!

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.

Voice Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Shakira, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Tommy Chong, Octavia Spencer, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Alan Tudyk, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Raymond Persi, Katie Lowes, Jesse Corti, John DiMaggio

Disney’s New “The Jungle Book” Trailer!

It looks amazing!

Let’s just talk about the voice talent:

  • Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo
  • Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Kaa
  • Christopher Walken as the voice of King Louie
  • Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the mother wolf Raksha

We’re in!

From Disney:

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat.

Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of selfdiscovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela.

“The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016. “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known.
