Easy Boots Banana Freakshake Recipe
I was so excited when I first saw the trailer for Dora and the Lost City of Gold! If you’re like me and watched hundreds of episodes of the cartoon version with your kids, you might be excited for this live-action adventure too. It’s so fun that Dora, Diego and Boots are back! This new film in theaters August 9, will most definitely bring back memories.
To get you in the “swing” of things, I created the ultimate ice cream shake inspired by Dora’s best monkey friend, Boots. This easy Boots Banana Freakshake is filled with banana ice cream, gooey hot fudge, chocolate sprinkles, brownies, whipped cream and more! It’s delicioso!
What is the Dora movie about?
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School.
Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
What is a Freakshake?
A freakshake is basically a mega huge milkshake combining ice cream with candy, then stacking the top of the cup with high calorie desserts such as brownies, candy bars, cotton candy and often entire slices of cake. It’s said the freakshake trend started in Australia, but now basically everywhere! If you can eat the whole thing, you’re a dessert loving rock star! ha!
Freakshake with Dora and the Lost City of Gold Printables
Make the most of summer by making my easy and super delicioso Boots Banana Freakshake! A simple to make banana ice cream, with hot fudge, chocolate drizzled bananas, whipped cream and more! This fun recipe also comes with the free printables you need to create your Dora and the Lost City of Gold milkshake.
This crazy shake will bring out your adventurous side. Not only is it exciting to make, but would be perfect desserts for a Dora themed birthday party. Make a big batch of banana milkshakes, fill small mason jars and let the kids stack the desserts they want on the lid. Better yet, put the slice of cake on top of the glass!
How to make a Boots Banana Freakshake
There are many ways you can make a freakshake. I hope you enjoy some inspiration from this wild banana shake recipe. It will surely get you in the mood for the film in theatres soon.

Step 2: Spread a large spoonful of room temperature hot fudge around the bottom of a glass.
Step 3: Use a bread knife and add hot fudge around the rim of the glass. Use a damp paper towel to wipe excess and create a nice even strip of chocolate.
Step 4: Tilt glass over a large bowl or sink and sprinkle chocolate jimmies onto the hot fudge. Gently press down any sprinkles to secure. Set aside.
Step 5: Put brownies, rice krisipies treats or desired candy onto a wooden skewer. Set aside.
Step 6: Blend vanilla ice cream, half of a banana and milk to make a banana milkshake.

The Cutest How To Train Your Dragon Cake Recipes!
Looking for a fun How to Train Your Dragon Cake for a birthday party or other special celebration? Then you’re going to love how easy these dragon cakes are to make with this fluffy white cake and buttercream frosting recipe!
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will be in theaters February 22 and I’m excited to share how I easily turned Toothless, the Night Fury dragon and his new friend, Light Fury, into adorable cakes. Make one cake or both, either way they’ll turn out to be the cutest cakes for any party!
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
If you’ve never seen these films, be sure to get caught up the first two, because they are super cute! In How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World , Hiccup is the Viking chief and ruler of Berk. He created a gloriously chaotic dragon utopia along with his fearsome Night Fury dragon, Toothless.
When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they’ve known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth.
How To Train Your Dragon Cake Tutorial
The secret to making a How to Train Your Dragon cake is to use my printables! I spent a long time designing printables that would work just right for a small cake. I wanted to turn both dragons into cakes, so I used 5″ round cake pans. Click here for a 5″ round cake pan.
For these printables to work perfectly, I suggest a 5″-6″ cake pan. You can make one cake, but they sure look cute when you have both the white and black dragons together!
How To Make Dragon Cake Printables
First, download and print these dragon cake printables in the link below (scroll down). Once you have printed and cut them out, start by hot gluing 1/2 inch cut paper straws onto the back of the eyes.
I used toothpicks to attach the other dragon parts into my cake.
IMPORTANT: When the paper touches the buttercream frosting, it can make the paper greasy. When inserting your printables into the cake, try leaving a gap between the paper and the cake if possible. I suggest not adding the printables until right before you are ready to serve the cake.
Toothless is black, so if the frosting touches the black paper, you can’t see any residue. Isn’t he cute?
I love how pretty the Light Fury cake turned out!
Make sure your printables do not touch the white dragon cake, because you will have some of the frosting soak into the white paper. My fluffy white cake recipe is perfect for this dragon!
I hope you enjoy these adorable How To Train Your Dragon cake tutorials!

Each printable design is meant to be used on a three layered 5″ round cake. A 6″ round cake will work fine as well. Click here for a 5″ round cake pan.

How to Train Your Dragon White Cake Recipe
Easy How To Train Your Dragon Cake tutorial. Fluffy white cake recipe for a Night Fury or Light Fury dragon cake. A perfect birthday party cake!
- 3 cups cake flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 egg whites (room temperature)
- 1 entire egg (room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons pure almond extract
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
White Buttercream Frosting
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 4 cups confectioners sugar
- 2 teaspoons clear vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons milk
- Black food gel (if making Night Fury)
White Cake Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and line three 5” or 6” inch cake pans with parchment paper. (I used 5 inch for my dragon cakes)
- Whisk the eggs, milk, and almond extract together in a large bowl; set aside.
- In a mixer, gently combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
- Add butter and mix on low until you get a crumbly texture.
- Add the liquid mixture a small portion at a time and mix until light and fluffy.
- Pour the batter evenly into each cake pan.
- Bake 25-30 minutes. You don’t want to over bake! Check at 15-20 minutes to test if it’s done by placing a toothpick in the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done.
- Let the cake cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pans.
- In a mixer, cream the butter until it is smooth for about 3 minutes.
- Add the confectioner’s sugar 1/2 a cup at a time then mix another minute.
Add vanilla, a pinch of salt and milk until frosting has reached the preferred consistency.
- If making the Night Fury cake, mix in black food gel a few drops at a time until you get the desired color.
Assembling the Cake
- Make the top of the cakes even by using a serrated knife and cutting the cake top to level the surface.
- Place bottom cake layer on a cake turntable or cake board and spread frosting to the top. Repeat until entire cake is assembled.
- Complete frosting the cake by adding one thin layer all over and placing cake into the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Then add the final layer of frosting.
Add the How to Train Your Dragon printables into the cake as shown for the dragon.
*This recipe is for 1 cake. Double the cake recipe to make two cakes.
If you prefer to use a cake mix: Use 2 cake mix boxes for one three layer cake.
IMPORTANT: When paper touches the buttercream frosting, it can make the paper greasy. When inserting your printables into the cake, try leaving a gap between the paper and the cake if possible. I suggest not adding the printables until right before you are ready to display or serve the cake.

It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are now facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. The battle to defeat the invaders and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett) and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

I love Lucy, aka Wyldstyle, voiced by Elizabeth Banks. She’s a tough master builder with the coolest hair around!
I’m probably most excited about Batman, voiced by Will Arnett, making a comeback in the new movie. He is so funny! I’m often heard laughing the loudest in the entire theater when he comes on screen. (Seriously, you can ask my kids… I laugh loud! ha!)

- Mini Chocolate Donuts
- Candy Hearts
- Red Heart Sprinkles
- White Cookie Icing
- White Jimmies
- Edible Eyes
- Black Edible Marker (optional)
Cat Donut Directions
You can leave the edible candy eyes the way they are, but we like to make the pupils larger using edible marker for a sweet look. We do this quite often and you can make them look however you would like. Attach them right above the hole in the donut using the icing.
Place a candy heart in the hole for the nose. Use the icing to make the mouth…
Place a red heart sprinkle in the mouth to look like a little kitty tongue…
Cut the top sides using a knife & press in two more candy hearts with the point facing out to make the ears…
Attach on white jimmies using your icing to look like whiskers…
Even the kids can help make these and you can use any color of hearts that you like.

These Chili Party Ideas with Free Printables is a simple dinner party you can quickly throw together. There is NO cooking involved, only heating up chili and dicing toppings. So easy!
Fun Chili Party Ideas and Printables
Host a simple Chili Party with these fun dinner ideas! As much as I love a good homemade meal, sometimes it’s just way easier to buy ready made meals. Earlier this week, I hosted a Wolf Brand Chili dinner party with some friends while LIVE Tweeting about it.
Confused? Believe me, my friends didn’t know what that was either. ha! Basically, I just talked to people on Twitter about what I was doing for the party. It was super fun and I heard our hashtag #1TexasChili was trending for a while. I guess a lot of people like chili, especially during this season of fall weather and football season!
I’m excited to share my party with you today because it’s a very simple idea and something you can quickly throw together. There is NO cooking involved, only heating up chili and dicing toppings. That’s my kind of party!
I think these cute free printables and these chili party ideas would be perfect for a fall party, birthday dinner or football party buffet.
We had a Chili Bar full of all kinds of toppings to try on your chili. If you haven’t tried Wolf Brand Chili in a while, now is the time. My friends all agreed that it was great. These are women that love to cook homemade chili and probably haven’t tasted this brand in a while. I love it because it’s not only tasty, but fast and easy! After doing many taste tests, we gave it two thumbs up.

Chili Party Toppings
There are so many great ideas for chili toppings! Along with the usual, cheddar cheese, cornbread, crackers and onions, I had the following toppings. Tortilla chips, Fritos, banana peppers, red peppers, red onions, avocado, chives, tater tots, blue cheese, smoked gouda cheese, hot dogs, sour cream, mustard and ketchup.
Chili Party Supplies
I had small cups and spoons available for everyone to sample toppings before they decided on what toppings they would choose for their final big bowl. We all ended up just using the small cups and getting full from taste testing. It was really fun!
The top three favorite toppings were smoked gouda cheese, Fritos and avocado!
Coming in a close second was blue cheese. My husband told everyone he thought you only needed a few crumbles, that a little goes a long way. He was right! Just a few sprinkles of blue cheese was heavenly.
The kids loved the tater tots and really, so did I! I actually loved mixing all of the veggies together. I like the red pepper because it gave the chili some crunch. But some didn’t like their chili crunchy.
My son just realized that he likes chili after going to a cub scout camp out and he was all over this taste test. It was fun to create something that both kids and parents enjoyed together!
Chili in a Jar
There was so much chili left over that I made up layered Chili in Jar to store in my fridge for later. With good canned chili like Wolf Brand Chili, this is so simple and really cute! My free printable circle tags work perfect on the jars.

This funny football wine bottle label makes a great hostess gift for a football party or a tailgate party. If your spouse loves football, this free printable wine label is hilarious and often true!
Funny Football Wine Bottle Label
A funny football wine bottle label is perfect to bring to your next tailgating or football party! At the time I designed these wine bottle labels, the New England Patriots were headed to the Super Bowl again. With a husband from Boston who is also a huge football fan, this football quote summed up the past few Sundays for me! ha!! I make a lot of great football printables, but this might be my new favorite!
I don’t know what it is, but even my son tunes out each time a football game is on. Just a few nights ago, I caught them watching a recording of a game that they had already seen. Really??? They tried to trick me by saying it was live and I should tweet about it. It was not a Monday night or a Sunday, plus they couldn’t looking at each other without giggling… I wasn’t fooled.
