You can leave the edible candy eyes the way they are, but we like to make the pupils larger using edible marker for a sweet look. We do this quite often and you can make them look however you would like. Attach them right above the hole in the donut using the icing.

How to make Nutella Stuffed French Toast

Easy Nutella French Toast recipe with creamy whipped topping! Nutella French Toast - Easy chocolate hazelnut and strawberry breakfast recipe.

My children love french toast. It is one of those breakfast options that seems like a lot of work, but really, it is simple and easy to make. And takes just as much time as pancakes! What can be better than combining Nutella, strawberries, french toast and whipped cream? It is a sure breakfast winner!

Nutella French Toast - Easy Breakfast Recipe by Divian Connors for LivingLocurto.com

You will need for Nutella French Toast:

  • Slices of bread (I used sliced french bread)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2tbsp sugar
  • 1tbsp cinnamon
  • Nutella
  • Strawberries
  • Whipped Topping (softened)

Servings: 4 french toast sandwiches

Spread generous amount of Nutella onto 4 slices of bread. Top with remaining bread.

In bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon, mix/blend well. You can add more milk for less egginess.

Nutella French Toast - Easy chocolate hazelnut and strawberry breakfast Recipe.

Coat both side with egg mixture, allowing it to sit for about a minute or two to soak in the egg mixture.  Let the excess mixture drip off of the bread.

In skillet, coat with nonstick cooking spray and turn heat on low.  I prefer to cook my french toast on low heat to reduce burning of the outside and to ensure that the bread is completely cooked and not soggy. Let cook on low for about 2 minutes, turn over to make sure it is cooking. Continue to turn over once every 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden brown.

Nutella French Toast - Easy chocolate hazelnut and strawberry breakfast Recipe.

Slice each sandwich and top with whipped topping or whipped cream and fresh berries. This would be a perfect Valentine breakfast.

QUICK TIP: To decorate your plate, place a spoonful of Nutella into a plastic sandwich bag. Squeeze into the corner of the bag and clip the tip of the corner with scissors. ‘Pipe’ your design onto the plate before putting on the french toast and berries.

  • 1/4 cup Jumbo Heart Sprinkles

  1. Gently open and remove the filling from a handful of Mini OREO cookies with a knife.
  2. Melt white candy melts in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat until candy is smooth and creamy.
  3. Make Minnie’s ears by using the melted white candy as the glue to stick the mini cookies inside of the larger cookies. Let candy dry before decorating.
  4. In a small glass bowl, melt pink candy in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat until candy is smooth and creamy.
  5. Dip one half of a cookie into the melted candy, gently shake cookie to smooth any rough edges and sprinkle with red, pink and white nonpareils.
  6. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted candy, then gently hold it on the bottom of the cookie. You don’t need to press it into the cookie as it might break.
  7. Hold stick to the cookie until a bond is made, then place on a piece of wax paper to cool and harden.
  8. Add Minnie’s bow by placing a small bit of melted candy on two jumbo candy hearts. Gently stick them to the top of the cookie to form a bow.
  9. If you can find the edible polka dot heart wafers by Wilton, add them to the top of the hearts buy using melted candy as glue. This step is optional.
  10. Print the Valentine’s Day tags, trim and punch a hole in the top and bottom. After the candy has completely hardened on the cookies, slide the tag onto the lollipop stick. Wrap as gifts or display on your party table.

8 Non Candy Valentine’s Day Ideas For Kids

Valentine’s Day is coming! Which means we’re on the hunt for Valentine’s Day ideas for our kids. (Preferably the non-candy Valentine’s Day ideas.)

And if I’m being honest…I’m still pretty worn out from THE holidays. I mean, there are still Christmas gifts in my living room, so it seems like it wasn’t that long ago…

While you’re judging my spectacular ability to drag my feet, please enjoy the benefit of my laziness…THESE 8 Non Candy Valentines Day Ideas For Kids!

I can’t take the credit—this was a lazy team effort by Melanie and Rachael too. We really just wanted this to be easy on all of us this year. Maybe it was the hours I spent last year exacto-knifing tiny wrappers onto a very specific candy that required multiple trips to the store to secure 25 of the right flavor of aforementioned candy that made me stand up and shout “AMEN” when Melanie and Rachael shared this idea with me.

All of these fun Valentine’s ideas are easy to assemble. Just download the PDF file, print and cut the cards, and place inside a cellophane bag with the toy. Tie with cute bakers twine and YOU’RE DONE! Bonus? You can get all of the items here via Amazon Prime, delivered right to your doorstep. Extra bonus? These printables are FREE!

So easy your kids can put their own Valentine’s Day cards together.

And because we’re all still working on our leftover Christmas candy, these are non-candy treats.

YOU’RE WELCOME.

XOXOX,
The Lazy Today’s Mama Team

Emoji Chocolate Bark | Valentine’s Day Treat

Emoji Chocolate Bark makes a simple and adorable Valentine’s Day Treat!

Emoji Chocolate Bark makes a simple and adorable Valentine's Day Treat! This white chocolate dessert is perfect for a school party or birthday.

With a 5th grade daughter in the house, we are a little Emoji crazy around here! We’ve got the pillows, the phone case, and you name it anything else emoji related is coming in this house. My daughter’s birthday party theme was even emoji and I’ve rounded up some amazing emoji party cakes in the past.

When I stumbled across some adorable emoji M&M’s at Target, I immediately wanted to buy them all up to use for a Valentine’s Day treat! Needless to say my daughter was thrilled. I think she scream at the top of her lungs in Target. That’s another thing 5th grade girls are crazy about… doing high pitched screams! ha!

Emoji Chocolate Bark makes a simple and adorable Valentine's Day Treat! This white chocolate dessert is perfect for a school party or birthday.

I decided to make some Emoji White Chocolate Bark Valentine’s Day treats as that is about the simplest thing you can make and looks adorable packed up in cute bags.

Along with yellow M&M’s I wanted my dessert to have some color. I found some cute and colorful candy hearts from Wilton at Target too. Any Valentine’s Day Candy Sprinkles will do for chocolate bark —> look for some here.

To make Emoji Chocolate Bark, just melt a large glass bowl full of white chocolate chips or vanilla almond bark for about 1 minute in the microwave. Stir and melt for 30-60 more seconds and stir until creamy.

Pour onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle Emoji M&M’s and heart candy sprinkles onto the melted chocolate.

Emoji Chocolate Bark makes a simple and adorable Valentine's Day Treat! This white chocolate dessert is perfect for a school party or birthday.

Place the baking sheet into the refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until the white chocolate has totally hardened.

Cut the candy into pieces and you’ve got an adorable Valentine’s Day treat!

If you can’t find the Emoji M&M’s, here are some alternative ideas:

• Use a black edible marker to draw emoji faces on yellow Mega M&M’s (I recommend these edible –>markers)

• Instead of M&M’s, you could use any small emoji candies! I’ve found seen some emoji conversation hearts and emoji gummies that would be fun.

4 Ideas for Family Valentine’s Day Getaways

Turtle Beach Resort (Courtesy Turtle Beach Resort)

Turtle Beach Resort (Courtesy Turtle Beach Resort)

Valentine’s Day is not just about romance, it’s also about showing your friends and family how much you love and appreciate them. This means that this much-loved yearly celebration is not just for lovers, it’s for families too! This year’s day of hearts falls on a Sunday, which means it’s a perfect time for a short, family Valentine’s Day getaway to spend some much needed quality and bonding time. Here are five family-friendly Valentine’s Day getaways to consider this year.

Turtle Beach Resort, Barbados
Luxurious and all-inclusive, Turtle Beach Resort‘s darling property on a 1,500-foot stretch of white sand beach in Barbados is just the romantic Valentine’s Day getaway for couples, thanks to its elegant-casual look, beautiful beach and slow-paced atmosphere. Yet the idyllic resort caters to families as well, with family-friendly activities and programs such as scavenger hunts, non-motorized water sports and even limbo lessons! This Valentine’s Day, kids bring out their inner chefs and participate in island-inspired pastry classes under the direction of Chef Ezra Beckles. And later, mom and dad can enjoy a private, romantic dinner on the beach.

CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta is an idyllic and affordable destination with all the makings for a romantic getaway, with its picturesque downtown, its lovely beaches and nearby Banderas Bay attractions like the small town of Yelapa. But it’s a great getaway destination for families too! At the family-friendly CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort, couple with kids can enjoy 4-star accommodations complete with marble fixtures, day excursions and onsite activities like the resort’s special Valentine’s Day pastry class, which gives kids a chance to decorate Valentine’s cookies for their favorite persons. And while the kids are having fun at the kids’ club, mom and dad can indulge in a bit of R&R and a Huichol-inspired treatment at the spa.

It’s no secret that this Club Med property in Punta Cana, DomRep, is a fantastic family-friendly resort destination, what with its plethora of activities and programs that both kids and adults will enjoy like kayaking, paddle boarding, archery, and windsurfing. Add to that list the new CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil in which guests can immerse themselves in the circus arts. But the resort has also just upped its ante as a romantic destination with the launch of its gorgeous, adults-only area Zen Oasis late last year. The area boasts luxurious hamlets, its own lagoon pool and an adults-only private beach. Make it a multi-gen family affair so that mom and dad can have a night or two alone at Zen Oasis while the kids share some quality time with grandma and grandpa at the five-trident, oceanfront area Tiara. The best part, the resort is all-inclusive so it’s worry-free!

There’s a reason why families and travel experts rave about this paradise in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The sprawling tropical resort is not only situated atop a cliff overlooking the ocean so that your hotel room balcony comes with a spectacular view, it also comes fully-loaded with features that not many resorts have, including its own private island and an oceanfront waterpark. Spend some quality time as a family on Palomino Island, which offers a number of water and land activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, horseback riding and snorkeling, and let the kids enjoy the 2.4-acre Coqui Water Park. The next day, mom and dad can drop the kids off at Camp Coqui, the resort kids’ club, so they can spend a romantic day together.

All-inclusive is definitely the way to go for families, so long as you pick a good resort. And Velas’ affordable property along Mexico’s Banderas Bay is a terrific choice. Its hacienda-style architecture, its tropical gardens, the several peacocks that roam its grounds, and its very own Mariachi band provide a romantic setting for a Valentine’s Day getaway. Its assortment of kid-friendly offerings, however, like the kids’ club, the all ages pools, and nightly entertainment make it a great destination for families. While the kids are at the kids’ club, mom and dad can enjoy a relaxing couple’s spa treatment on a grass-covered jetty along the beach under a white canopy.
