Getting creative with summer entertaining and grilling can be easy with these simple party food ideas. Pizza and a vegetable tray are the perfect combination. After baking pizza on the grill, I’m totally hooked on pizza vs burgers or hot dogs for a barbecue! So you’ll notice some yummy Ristorante Pizza by Dr. Oetker on my patriotic party table. It’s the best for grilling because of the delicious thin crust.

Easy 4th of July Low Carb Recipe

For a low carb option this 4th of July, this veggie tray is one of the easiest things to make! Along with the American flag vegetable tray and grilled pizzas, I made my favorite dill dip recipe and turned it blue to complete the American flag design. I searched through my cabinets to find a blue square container and once it was all together, I thought this veggie tray turned out terrific!

How Do You Make An American Flag Vegetable Tray?

Making this vegetable tray is as easy as 1,2,3! I have to admit that dipping the delicious crispy pizza into the dill dip is very tasty! I found these cute red, white and blue containers at Michaels and they were perfect for serving the grilled pizza.

Can you guess what I made the stars from? They are radishes cut with a small star fondant cutter! You could use cucumbers, but they won’t be as white. A star cookie cutter would be great too.

How Did You Make the Dill Dip Blue?

I added blue food coloring to my dill dip. I think using a blue sandwich container also helped it look bright colored. You’ll want to gradually add a few drops of food coloring until you get the desired blue you like. Get a blue container like mine on Amazon here.

I hope you enjoy this vegetable tray platter idea! If you grill some pizza or make this veggie tray for the 4th of July, share a photo with me on social media. I’d love to see how it turned out!

Turkey Vegetable Tray, Travel and Thankful Thoughts

I’m sharing more cute Thanksgiving Turkey Vegetable Tray photos and thoughts about being thankful. Come join the fun…

Enjoy a fun Thanksgiving Turkey Vegetable Tray and thoughts about being thankful!

Before making my Thanksgiving dinner grocery list (which is very late in the making!), I decided to take a few minutes to write out what I’m thankful for this year. After going through the hardest year of my life, it’s nice to think about the good.

Writing down the things that we’re thankful for keeps sad thoughts at bay and helps us think about the positive things in life.

I love this quote…

Enjoy a fun Thanksgiving Turkey Vegetable Tray and thoughts about being thankful!

One thing I’m thankful for is getting to visit so many wonderful places! My goal for next year is to find time to write about my travels. For now, I post photos on Instagram until I can find time to write here on the blog.

I was recently at a retreat in beautiful Jamaica where one of our assignments was to write in a journal for five minutes about where we are in life right now. Maybe you could imagine you are sitting with me on this amazing pool bed at the Hyatt Ziva and write for five minutes about what you are thankful for? That’s what I’m imagining that I’m doing now:-) Boy it sure is starting to get hot out here don’t you think????

My thankful list is getting rather long now. It is sure much easier when writing at this gorgeous pool:-)

One important thing on my list is that I’M VERY THANKFUL FOR YOU!!! Yes, you!

I pinch myself at least once a week that I’ve gotten the chance to know so many great people and do so many interesting things through writing this blog. You are certainly at the top of my list! I wish we could chat in person, but just know that I read every email and comment that comes through and so thankful for you!

Long time reader, Megan, recently wrote me such a nice note…

“Your beautiful turkey has become a Baum family tradition! Long time reader of your blog. I get so many wonderful ideas and inspiration from you. Keep crafting and making things cute and festive!” ~ Megan

She was taking about my Turkey Vegetable Tray and shared her own veggie tray photos from the past 3 years!

Thanks so much for making my year with your turkey vegetable tray photos Megan! I’m so happy to know that I help bring joy into other’s homes.

Now that’s something to jump for joy about!

Have I given you the travel bug yet? I’ve sure got it!! While waiting for my turkey to cook, I think I’ll be browsing here to see where I can go next! Dreaming about Hawaii for sure.

I want to thank my friends Tammillee and Amy for these fun photos so we could dream of being on vacation today!

So what are you thankful for?
